Official Records Contacts

St. Louis County does not use a conventional sheriff-run jail roster. Start with Department of Justice Services for a current custody or booking question, then use the arresting agency or records custodian for reports and releasable record requests. A booked person may later appear in a state, federal, or immigration system, each with its own limits.

St. Louis County Police and public records

County Police headquarters is at 7900 Forsyth Boulevard, Clayton, MO 63105. Its general and non-emergency line is 636-529-8210; Media Relations is 314-615-4282; Criminal Investigations is 314-615-5400. To seek a police record, use the county public-records portal or mail Sunshine Requests, Police Custodian of Records, Bureau of Central Police Records, 7900 Forsyth Boulevard, Clayton, MO 63105. Ordinary police reports are generally available ten days after an incident, and fees vary by time and materials. That timing is not a promise about a booking photograph or a Justice Services record.

Other custody systems

For a sentenced state prisoner, begin with the Missouri Department of Corrections or the official Missouri Courts offender-search page. For federal custody, use the Bureau of Prisons inmate locator. For a person in ICE custody or recently released within its scope, use the ICE Online Detainee Locator. These systems do not replace a Justice Services inquiry for local county custody.

Choose the record path

The county records overview explains the official search sequence and request details. The Wanted Fugitives page explains how to verify a warrant through the court or issuing agency. Arrest news may be selective, so it is not a substitute for the original record.
